#ith reference to Your Excellenay's despatch

No.147 of May 6th transmitting a copy of the reply of

the Portuguese Government to your note of April 22nd

regarding the leakage of Indian opium into the Xaono

market, I transmit herewith, for your own information,

a copy of a letter received from the India Office

reporting further importations of the kind.

I soneur in the suggestion, made in that

letter, that there is as yet no necessity to make fresh

representations on this subject to the Portuguese

Government.
